Garrison Keillor’s wonderful weekly radio show, seemingly frozen 30 years ago, never ceases to amaze me by keeping up with the times. A few weeks ago, they started posting video previews and select performances to YouTube.

Added to a robust website, a podcast and show archives going back more than a decade, they’ve really reached out to the internet generation while not changing the show format much at all. Now, however, we get to see the old-school sound effects man slam that tiny door and manipulate those shoes strung up around his neck. Ruined illusion? Possibly, but we always have the option to close our eyes and let the imagination take over.
